Sowing
5-1-19 -I sowed 6 – 4 packs of the large bottle gourd also known as the birdhouse gourd. I need to finish tagging them. They are in the small greenhouse.
Germination
5-16-19 – the gourds germinated and look great. Need to sow maybe a few more.

Use
Gourds are primarily used for fancy fall decor, crafts and birdhouses.

Germination
Germination was timely and the weather was not, but I finally go tthe small fancy gourds transplanted to the garden and they took 4 #1500 nursery cans on the west fence trellis there. They are to the right of the Celebrity tomatoes.

Powdery Mildew
The leaves of my fancy gourds have a little powdery mildew on them. I am not going to treat them. They are at the end of their season, the vines will be dying soon and before long I will be harvesting the gourds that are on the vines and mature already.

10-07-20 – Starting to pack up gourds that I have for sale. I will be offering them on eBay and when I get their photos up I will be posting them here and in my new blog!
